The Beginning of the End

As I sit here on this bitterly cold Saturday morning (and yes, its really cold. The heat in my room was out for a few days and it was just fixed a few hours ago so my rooms is still warming up) its just hitting me. In three days, I start class for the last semester of my undergraduate college career and very possibly my entire college career. I think its hitting me so late because I just took a final last night. Yup, aren't winter classes great! No... not at all. I have been taking classes since July 6th, 2008 and there's no stopping till May.

If you think me updating this blog has been lacking lately, then be prepared to be disappointed. Think of this post as a warning; a disclaimer of my spring schedule. Hopefully, there won't be a large drop-off to updating this, but its hard to say. The winter has been decently busy, yet fairly uneventful. So not many posts. The spring is going to be super eventful, but I'll be so busy I may forget that I have a blog. Just is case I do become a ghost I'll just give you a taste of my spring schedule.

I have five classes. Nothing special there. That's about average and what I did last semester so I'm not worried about that. However, now I'm a full supervisor at work for the spring. I am scheduled to work 15 hours a week plus hiring team hours, plus weekend shifts (5 weekend shifts a semester. A shift is only one day, not both). Again, about what I did last semester, but add on the weekend shifts. To go along with taking away all my weekends is Ultimate Frisbee. The spring is the competitive season whereas the fall is more like a 4 month pre-season. Our tournament schedule is pretty rigorous and includes 6+ tournaments, including all 4 weekends in March (and spring break). Also, we have practice 4 times a week this semester; two of which are on Tuesdays.

So, basically... enjoy this post! In three days I am beginning my last college journey. I am going to be so busy that I have to schedule times to eat. No really, eating lunch will be a privilege, not a right (at least Monday-Thursdays). I sincerely only have 4 weekends over the next seventeen weeks where I don't have something scheduled. My day to day schedule is pretty complex to boot, so I'll just let you imagine it on your own. Some words of advice for contacting me.... the best thing to do is.... I will probably answer.... visit m..... cal... you know what? I probably won't be able to answer/hear my cell phone. I don't have time for snail mail. Email? Ok, I got an idea. Call or email first. If no response... then come to my house at 4am cause I will prob here getting a solid 3.5hours of sleep a night. Wake me up and we'll chat for however long I can stay awake.

New Cell Phone

In addition to my packed weekend on winning game after game, I proceeded to destroy my phone. Or should I say my old phone! My phone got soaking wet due to a ridiculous downpour that literally hurt it was raining so hard. In my failed attempt to dry my phone at an accelerated pace, I foolishly place my phone on a light bulb, which was hot enough to literally melt the screen. So, dumb me broke my phone. I jumped at the opportunity to get a new phone and no longer be ashamed at my vintage 2002 technology (ok, I was not ashamed, far from it actually). I went to a local Verizon store and purchased a LG EnV2. It is a sweet phone with a full keyboard to make texting really quick and easy. I really like it!

NYC!

As part of a massive Christmas gift collection to multiple family members, my sis gave us all tickets to go see 1964: The Tribute in Carnegie Hall in New York City. 1964 is the best The Beatles tribute band in the World according to Rolling Stone, so this was destined to be a great time. The original plan was to bring myself, Beth & Drew Newman (sister & bro[ther-in-law]), my parents (both are fans, but my mom is a HUGE The Beatles fan!), Drew's parents (Older Newmans), and two family friends of the Newmans. The family friends of the Newmans opted to not attend the adventure, and yes it was an adventure which I'll get to in a minute, so Mr and Mrs Shmitch who are long time friends on my mom's were summoned and ready to travel to NYC in a matter of minutes! Literally, in less than 1.5 hours they were called, packed, and over my parents house ready to go. Impressive from a Sanborn perspective. But wait Bill, why were they packed? NYC is only a short train ride a...

College Graduation!!!

In terms of blogging I have fallen off the face of the Earth! It have been over 4 months since my last post?! Ridiculous! I HAVE been really busy, but that time gap is inexcusable and I apologize. Let's do this! Oh yeah, I graduated!! Way back in May (Tuesday, the 19th of '09) I graduated from Rutgers University! I am a joint graduate from the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) and the School of Communication, Information and Library Studies (SCILS). I was granted a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication with a ~3.4 GPA (really a 3.39) and departmental honors. I was also inducted into Lamda Pi Eta the Communication honor society end of my Junior year. The ceromony was nice and also short running just under two hours (incredible!). It was held in the College Ave gym, a place I have visited many times during my tenure at RU. It was a great feeling to walk across that stage to know that I have finally earned a College degree. Wow! Finally done with College? On the t...
